That's not so. There are 2 types of property ownership in Thailand for foreigners.
Leasehold – registration of an object (apartment, land, house) in long-term ownership with the possibility of extension. The first term of ownership is 30 years, then the term can be extended twice more for the same period. Thus, the maximum long-term ownership period is 90 years.
Freehold – registration of the right of full ownership of an object. In condominiums, 49% of apartments are available for purchase in a freehold. To obtain full ownership of a piece of land, it is necessary to open a legal entity. Most of the villas and houses purchased in Thailand are decorated in this way.
